What is Transgender Day of Visibility?


This day didn’t always exist! It was actually brought about by Rachel Crandall-Crocker, a transgender woman who was seeking to celebrate trans joy. As Rachel attended events like Trans Day of Remembrance, she realized that it was vital to also come together to celebrate transgender lives, and so she began by spreading the word among others on Facebook back in 2009. Since then, the day has become recognized by major LGBTQ+ rights organizations internationally and celebrated with many different events. We’ve compiled some local events below:
